Teacher Bingo Party

The Teacher Bingo Committee wants to clear up confusion over the Teacher Bingo Parties event on Friday, April 17th. There are two Bingo parties on this night: grades K-4 and grades 5-8. The cost for grades 5-8 is $30 (not $25 as indicated on the Auction Party RSVP form) and the party is held in the school hall. Thank you and hope to see your child there!

Language Arts

This week in spelling students focused on words ending in -el, -le, -il, and -al. Students reviewed transitions in grammar and categorized them by writing genres. In writing, students finished a rough draft of their persuasive essay. Students will be peer editing these essays and working on their final draft next week.

Reading

I have reminded all 5th graders to check their own PowerSchool for missing assignments, not only in Reading, but for all subject areas. They should work on finishing and turning in any missing assignments. This can positively impact their overall grades.

Next week the fifth grade will be leading the St. Patrick’s Day Mass. (3/17 8:45am) In the Steps to Respect Curriculum, students are making “The 3 R’s of Bullying Pamphlets. The three R’s are Recognize, Refuse and Report.  We are also moving on to Chapter 18, The Liturgy of the Eucharist.
