Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a busy week on zoom. The students really worked hard to keep a positive attitude. They also worked very hard in their classes. I am very proud of them!

Religion
Next week we will be moving on to Ch. 14 New Life In Christ. Students will be learning about the Sacraments of Initiation and the R.C.I.A Process.
Second Step: We will begin the Anti-Bullying Curriculum in Second Step after the break.

Science
Students will take a quiz from their Science textbook on Lesson 1 (Is it Living?) on Friday, Dec. 3rd. They will complete a study guide in class to help them prepare.
Social Studies
The week after Thanksgiving break we will be moving on to Chapter 5 Routes of Exploration to the New World. Essential Question: How did exploration of the Americas lead to settlement?
Students will be assigned an Explorer to research from Chapter 5. They will be researching specific information about their explorer using their textbook. Next they will create a slideshow presentation. After they have completed the slideshow they will be presenting it on a Flipgrid video! There will be no Chapter test for this Chapter. The assessment will be a performance assessment in the form of a slideshow and flipgrid video.

Happy weekend! When we return from break, we will review our anticipation guide, which had students think about what it’s like to be different, as well as the value of standing up for people who are bullied for being different. We will review this upon our return, and dive back into Wonder. We will be reading Book One: August. While we read, students are completing their double-entry journal (at home). We will use class time to discuss the reading, and answer text-dependent questions. We are also learning how to write an expository essay on theme. Therefore, we are crafting an essay as a class, which will prepare students for the final essay on Wonder. Thanks, and have a great break.
