Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

This is the last Boomerang of the year! We had such a wonderful year and I am so lucky that I get to teach them again next year in Social Studies class.

Reminders: Class Auction Wednesday 6/13 – Bring in items under $3.00 for the auction by Wednesday!!!!

Thursday 6/14 – Noon Dismissal & Free Dress

Math

Monday – Lesson 102, Subtracting Decimal Numbers Using Zeros

Tuesday – Lesson 103, Volume

Social Studies

The fifth graders will begin Chapter 15, The Bill of Rights. We will work on this chapter Friday, Monday and Tuesday. All missing work and/or test make ups need to be in by Friday 6/8.  I have enjoyed teaching this class this year! Have a great summer.

Science

Students explore how the oxygen in the air our lungs breathe in makes life possible. Students will measure their individual lung capacities. They will also investigate the diaphragm’s role in the respiratory system by building a model lung.

Language Arts

The 5th graders have been working on their last assignment, Camp Seymour Poem. It is due on Friday, June 8th. All remaining unfinished work and spelling tests need to be complete by Friday, June 8th for a grade.  Hope you all have a wonderful summer! See you next year!
