Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

This will be the last Boomerang letter of the school year. Next Wednesday we will have our Class Auction! Please feel free to donate anything you can to our little auction.

6/14 Friday: Last Day of School! Report Cards-Dismissal after Mass

Math

Monday 6/10: Lesson 102, Subtracting Decimal Numbers Using Zeros

Tuesday 6/11: Lesson 103, Volume

Religion

We are currently using religion time to continue our lessons in the Steps to Respect curriculum. We will be working on Lesson 4, Recognizing the difference between Bullying and Conflict on Friday as well as Monday.

Social Studies

The fifth graders will take the Chapter 14 test on Friday, June 7. Any late/missing work needs to be turned in by June 7 by 8:30am.   Next week I will have class on Tuesday with the 5th graders.  It has been a great year!

Reading

As we approach the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, make sure to have plenty of good books on hand! 5th graders: add to your book logs and continue to challenge yourself to move around the genre wheel! I look forward to seeing all of you at Mrs. Harris’ Summer Reading Challenge celebration in the Fall. Happy Reading!  Mrs. McFaul

Science

Students will wrap up their study of the respiratory system with a short quiz on Monday.

LA

The fifth graders will be submitting their Camp Seymour poem on June 7. Students also will have to recite a memorized poem by June 7th. Any late/missing work needs to be turn in by June 7 b7 8:30am. Next week I will have the 5th graders in class on Monday and Tuesday finishing their final unit of study, Poetry. Thank you for a great year. I look forward to next year with the 5th graders as 6th graders!
