Religion
Next week we will begin Chapter 3, Signs of God’s Presence. One way God communicates his love is through signs. Through the visible signs and divine actions in each Sacrament, we receive grace and are helped to share in God’s work. God uses signs, such as the Burning Bush speaking to Moses to communicate that he is with us and acting in our lives. We will be reading this Bible story and discussing it in class next week.

Social Studies
Next week we will continue to work on Ch. 5. Students are creating an Explorers Presentation on Google Slideshow. There will be no test for this chapter. The slideshow will be a performance assessment. Students will be working in class to complete this assignment. They may need to do some work on it for homework if they do not use their time well in class. This slideshow is due on (11/14).
ELA
Hello HRS families! Next week, we will arrive at the end of Number the Stars. Students will be given four options for their final project: newspaper article, movie poster, playwright, or diary entries. These will be due November 16th. Students will also complete a short story planner, and begin writing in class. I’m looking for a two page short story, using the scene they chose for the “spooky writing” activity. The planner will be on Google Classroom, so you can see what your child is planning on writing. Have a great weekend.
Science
Life Science: Cells
Students will:
- discover why all human cells don’t look alike.
- learn about the function of different cells in the human body
- learn how similar cells form tissues.
- learn how human cells are different from plant cells.
