Curriculum Update: Week of January 18 – 21, 2022:

 

Religion

We are working on Chapter 15, The Sacraments of Forgiveness and Healing. Students have received the study guide for this Chapter and had time in class to work on it. It will be due on 1/19. The test will be on Friday (1/21).

 

Second Step Lesson

Next week we will be doing Lesson 6 Strong Emotions

Overview

Students will be able to recognize recurring situations that cause them to feel strong emotions.

Science

Student’s inventions are due Friday, January 28th. They will be displayed in the Fifth Grade hallway for Catholic Schools Week.

The shipment of microbes was delayed. Students will be looking at volvox, blepharisma and vinegar eels under a microscope. They will be studying the characteristics of each. The quiz has been pushed back to Wednesday, Jan. 25th.

 

Social Studies

Next week we will be having our Ch. 6 Act-it-out on Thursday 1/20. Students have been learning about the three early English settlements of Roanoke, Jamestown and Plymouth. Students will receive a study guide on 1/19 in Google Classroom. The test for this Chapter will be on 1/27.
