Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
I hope you are doing well. I was at a Grace Meeting today. We had a great day of learning! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Here is a message from Ms. Horton:
Next week we enter Holy Week, the most sacred week of the liturgical year. As a school, we will experience the week together, especially the Sacred Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and then Holy Saturday. On Good Friday, please have students come to school in perfect uniform (no free dress please) and our leadership students will lead the school in Stations of the Cross at 11:10 in the church. Families are invited to join us for this powerful prayer. We will dismiss from school silently at noon on Good Friday, thank you for helping us hold on to this powerful tradition to commemorate the day.
Camp Seymour Reminders
Depart: Wednesday April 30, 2025
We recommend that you label all your child’s luggage and bags with their name and school! (Just a reminder!)
- Please take the time to talk to your child about camp. Remind them that camp is considered school, even though they are outdoors.
- Arrive at school at the normal time on Wednesday, April 30th. Have your child bring all bags to the school hall. After this is done, have your child report to their classroom for attendance.

ELA
Hello families, we’ve had a wonderful week of writing! It’s been a joy to see these young minds make connections between a novel and their lived experiences. I’m seeing some outstanding essays to say the least. Essays were supposed to be printed and turned in on Friday, April 10th. Please double check that your child turned it in so there’s no late penalty. I also sent home permission slips for viewing the film Wonder. We will use this as an opportunity to compare and contrast the book and the film. Students will also be put into groups for book clubs. They get to pick their top three books from my collection with the goal of getting one of their top three. No vocab/spelling test next week. Have a great weekend!
