Religion –
This week we completed our grade 5 Circle of Grace Lesson. Please read the Circle of Grace letter I have attached to this email.
Next week we will be getting ready to lead the Friday prayer service. We will also be finishing up the Chapter 2 study Guide. In this chapter we are exploring the sense of longing we all feel as a part of the desire God put in our hearts to be truly happy with Him. We will examine the search for happiness through the Gospel account of the Woman at the Well. We will also be taking a deeper look at grace as a free, loving gift of participation in the life of the Holy Trinity. Looking ahead the test for Chapter 2 will be on Tuesday 10/22.
Second Step
Next week we will begin the Bullying Prevention Unit.
Introductory Lesson: Class Rules.
When class norms clearly support safe, respectful, and responsible behavior, bullying is less likely to happen. This lesson helps reinforce those norms by connecting words and actions to class rules and expectations for social and learning behavior. The Building a Positive Classroom Climate Activities found on the Following Through Cards also promote a positive classroom climate, which can help prevent bullying.
Objectives
Students will be able to:
- Identify actions and words that are respectful and responsible
- Demonstrate ways to be respectful and responsible
Lesson Concepts
- Being a respectful student helps everyone stay safe and be better learners.
- Being a responsible student helps create a calm, focused classroom climate where everyone can learn.
