ELA
Hello HRS families! Next week, we will continue with our Genius Hour presentations. These have been so much fun, and I’m inspired by your kid’s depth of knowledge on their topics. Their project grade is a combination of presentation skills and research. I’m looking for four credible sources cited on their slides, with information that is neatly organized and not too distracting. They also learned PVLEGS for presentation skills: poise, voice, life, eye contact, gestures, and speed. Students will also be meeting with their book club groups for a final project. They can choose to do an interview, movie poster, skit, or letter to the author. Also, because we didn’t finish the vocab book, I picked 12 words from the final few units that 5th graders should know. Students are using their vocab books to write definitions on a worksheet (due Monday). The test will be on the week of June 10-14. Have a great weekend!
