Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

Here is a brief curriculum update. Please check Homework section on website nightly. This should match what your child is writing in his/her homework assignment notebook.

Gentle reminder: Please talk to your child about any low grades, missing assignments, etc that you see on Powerschool.

Then I would ask you to have your child come to me and ask any question they may have. It will instill responsibility in your child as well as confidence to approach a teacher to ask a question about a grade. So I would like to see more students coming to me first before an email from a parent. This will allow your child to have ownership over his/her progress.
