Religion
This week we will begin Ch. 16, Gathered for Mass. The study guide will be passed out on Friday 1/20. After the lesson we will have some time to work on it in class and then it will be due the following Thursday 1/27. The test for this Chapter will be after Catholic Schools Week.

Social Studies
The Fifth Graders are working on Chapter 8 Facing Slavery. The Interactive Notebook for this lesson is due next Tuesday 1/25. We will have the chapter test on Thursday 1/27.

Reading
5th graders are practicing Reader’s Theater scripts to be performed this week and next. Our focus this week is oral reading fluency, so students should spend some homework time re-reading their parts and working on appropriate facial expressions and hand gestures. In addition, please encourage your child to check PowerGrade for missing assignments in Reading. These can be turned in either with a homework pass for full credit or late for half credit.

Language Arts
Students prepare for a test on singular, plural and possessive nouns this Tuesday, Jan. 25th. A study guide will be sent home and posted on my webpage this Friday. I will attach several practice sheets for students to use as study aids. Students have a spelling assignment and test this Monday.

Science
Inventions are due next Friday, January 28th. They will be displayed in the hallway for Catholic Schools Week.
Students will take a test on the microbes they viewed under the microscope next Wednesday. They can review the notes they copied in their 5-subs. The test will also cover Chapter 1; lesson 3 & 4 (How are Plants and Animals Classified?). Students have completed a study guide for each lesson.

Have a great week!
