We are continuing on with Chapter 17, Liturgy of the Word. Students have created Dead Sea replicas and are now learning order of the Liturgy of the Word. A study guide for this Chapter will be handed out next Tuesday.

Science
Students will learn how organisms become adapted to their environment. Students will also discover how environmental changes can affect a species and what scientists learn by studying fossils.
Students will take a test on Chapter 3, Adaptations, next Friday (2/26).

Language Arts: Students explore “point of view” as we begin a unit on narrative writing. We learn what it means to write in the first, second and third “person.” Students review past, present and future tenses of verbs. There will be no spelling assignment or test this week. There is, however, a grammar worksheet that is due on Monday.

Social Studies
The fifth graders are busy working on Chapter 9, Colonial Williamsburg. They are working through center rotations, which teach about the various aspects of daily life in Colonial Williamsburg.

Have a great week!
