After the Thanksgiving break we will continue our study of Ch. 6 Three Early English Settlements. Students are learning about Roanoke, Jamestown and Plymouth. They will prepare and present “Act it Outs” during class. Please make sure to turn in any missing work by 12/5. Report cards go out on 12/12.

Students will begin a research-based science unit called Microworlds. In this unit, students will learn to use their powers of observation with the help of magnifying lenses and microscopes to see familiar things in a new way. They are also introduced to a fascinating new world-the cellular structure of living organisms.

Language Arts

This week in Language Arts students finished the rough draft of their procedural essay in class. Students learned about proper editing marks and worked on peer editing. Students then wrote a final draft of their essay. Students also took a Unit 1 assessment covering revising, editing, and writing a narrative.
