ELA

Hello HRS families. Last week, students completed a compare and contrast write for Wonder, the novel and film. I’ve been encouraging students to self-assess as practice for next year, and there is a checklist to support them on this (Google Classroom). I want students to “whisper read” their writing to listen for flow, identify errors, and check for run-on sentences. Next week, we will continue genius hour. Students may be thinking about their topic choices, but should not begin researching or putting together a presentation until instructed by me. I’m still modeling skills needed for this unit. I’m looking forward to seeing students explore a topic they are passionate about, and teaching the class using their presentation. Have a great weekend.
